My computer is a very fast 64 bit Windows 7 machine using Intel's 6 core 3.4 GHz chip, but also has nVidia's high end CUDA GPU accelerator as well as Toshiba's mutlicore SpursEngine board for further acceleration of AVCHD encoding. The fastest program I frequently use, Cyberlink Power Director 10 Ultra, is at least 8 times faster than PMH, taking 4 or 5 minutes to do what PMH requires 30-40 minutes to accomplish. Steve criticism of PMH is based on its very slow speed compared to the other video software I use for making AVCHD disks from camera video. It never ceases to surprise me how some people can have such different impressions of these things. Just a quick counter to the messages here that criticize these items. I've also heard good reports and seen excellent pictures from the HX30V. I've been impressed by how fast and effective the new PMH Program is.

I know this is not a great solution, but it does permit the internal content to be brought over painlessly.

This is done quite rapidly, and then allows you to treat internal camera content exactly the same as if it were captured on an SD card in the first place. Using the camera's menu and memory card tool command called "Copy", the camera will transfer all of the internal memory content onto an SD card. They are slow, poorly designed products, and I have, as of tonight, deleted PMH entirely. PMH (as well as the prior PMB) are, exactly as you state, just awful. The other files are not accessible.Īs you are most likely aware, there are other items availabnle through the "Devices and Printers" page, but again, no images. I have been wondering also, and did some experimentation.Īs far as I can tell after a lot of wasted time, there is no way for Windows 7 to see the camera's internal storage of content except for the installer of PMH.exe.
